What is all this CBD business about?...why all the hype? So the FDA is very particular as to how CBD can be talked about or promoted on a website. Makes you wonder why. Companies are not allowed to make any straight claims as to the effects of CBD but they can use particular words like promotes calm, helps with sleep, fights stress, etc etc. So before we get started with this, read our disclaimer at the bottom of the page so we can avoid any misunderstandings and set the claims thing straight before we get to the nitty-gritty of what CBD is and why it is taking the world by storm. Ok great! Lets get started.
The most common question. What is CBD?
What is this buzz word all about? CBD is simply one of those pesky acronyms that stands for Cannabidiol. It is the natural compound found in the Cannabis Plant, more commonly known as hemp and marijuana. Since most marijuana CBD products are still Illegal due to concentrations of THC greater than 0.3%, we will focus on Hemp derived CBD which is fully legal in all 50 states and over 40 countries. Hemp derived CBD does not produce any psychoactive effects and will not produce a false drug test. So when buying products, make sure it is hemp derived and comes with a certificate of authentication proving it is real and safe.
There are multiple classes and strains of the Cannabis plant. Hemp CBD Oil specifically comes from the strain of the Cannabis Sativa plant species that is grown specifically for industrial uses and CBD products. It is one of the fastest growing plants and was one of the first plants to be used over 10,000 years ago for food and rope and throughout history for clothing, paper, housing material, and more. To be classified as Hemp CBD it must contain less than 0.3% THC by dry weight. Agricultural Act of 2018
OK, but how does it help me?
Again we can not make any claims here, but what we can say is that as more and more studies and research are being done on CBD and the effects it has on the body, more and more people are choosing to take CBD to promote feelings of well being and help fight many different ailments including but not limited to stress, sleep disorders, chronic pain, ADD, PTSD, nausea, heart health, weight loss, anxiety, acne, skin care, inflammation, schizophrenia, depression, epilepsy, and even cancer. Why is it in my skin care?

Now research is finding out that it may have neuroprotective properties as well as antioxidant properties. Source. For this reason CBD Oil is now being included not only in skin care products but pain relief balms and creams as well.
Full Spectrum vs Isolate CBD. What is the difference!?
This is really simple. When extracting CBD from the Hemp plant it initially contains all of the Cannabinoids, Terpenes, and Flavonoids that are available in the plant. Some of the different Terpenes have known pharmacological effects and have been and are being studied. This initial CBD oil is called Full Spectrum, because it doesn't contain just CBD, but can possibly contain the other, some say very important cannabinoids, like CBC, CBG, CBN, etc. Here is a Certificate of Authenticity from one of our products showing some of the other Cannabinoids. COA 1, COA 2. It is now believed that Full Spectrum products are more effective than Isolate due to these powerful ingredients, and an effect that is believed to occur from these rare natural compounds, called the "Entourage Effect".
No other plant on earth contains these cannabinoid compounds except the Hemp plant.
As mentioned above, the initial extraction of CBD Oil from the hemp plant contains the Full Spectrum of compounds in the plant. CBD Isolate is produced by further processing and filtering out the main compound CBD from the oil essentially isolating it from the rest of the oil properties, cannabinoids, terpenes, etc. Once believed to be of higher quality, people are now migrating to the Full Spectrum oils due to the possible added benefits of the other compounds. This does not make CBD isolate useless. Isolates will tend to have less taste and no odor which is sometimes preferred over the very earthy tasting Full Spectrum. They also contain over 90% pure CBD, and in the case of Bella Jane Organics products, 99% pure CBD isolates. The debates as to which one is better is still up in the air and depends on the individuals response to each type of oil.
Entourage Effect? It's in your DNA!
Remember, it is a known fact that the Cannabis plant was part of our diet millennia ago, as far back as 10,000 years. Cannabis has become part of our DNA. Research is finding out that our bodies are covered in receptors that are specific too and react to CBD Oil and its unique cannabinoid compounds as well as numerous terpenes present in the cannabis plant. Nutritionist are now saying that we may even be malnourished if we are not receiving these compounds that our bodies are now shown to have specific receptors for. These G-coupled protein receptors, more specifically CB1 and CB2 receptors are located throughout the body, nervous system, and organs. This system of receptors in our body is part of what is now called the Endocannabinoid System. The Full Spectrum of Cannabinoid compounds is believed to stimulate this system as a whole thus producing what is believed to be the "Entourage Effect" that may lead to the reduction of pain and overall feeling of well being. The Cannabis Plant is the only source on the planet that we can receive these unique compounds from. Learn more here: (Source 1) (Source 2)
